“And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. And I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you.” (Exodus 31:6)
Even in the height of infomercials and while people spent hours on QVC and HSN, it was never appealing to me. I’m more of a “here it is, figure it out for yourself” kind of girl. But a piece of those shows became part of our everyday vernacular.
“But wait! There’s more!”
Those four little words entice the viewer to continue watching, as it promises there is more to come. It can also mean additional features or benefits are on the way. This phrase is an easy way to build excitement and anticipation among viewers – which in turn builds sales.
In Exodus 31, there could be a “But wait! There’s more!” moment. We were introduced to Bezalel and told all about his gifts, talents, and abilities. Then we are introduced to Oholiab. While from a different lineage and tribe, he too had all the craftiness and was appointed to help with the upcoming project God had in mind.
But wait! There’s more!
God wasn’t done. There were bonuses to come. Not only were Bezalel and Oholiab trained and ready, but God also called a group of men full of talents and abilities. There would need to be many to complete the tasks – and God had prepared them.
Are you called to something you feel is too big for just you? Friend, ponder for a minute that there is more. God is also calling a partner and maybe even an “army” of people prepared to work right alongside of you. Yes, it may be too big for you, but not for God. He knows exactly what you need – and the people you need working with you.
Just take the first step on faith and allow God to say to you, “But wait! There’s more!”
