Group projects at school can be a recipe for disaster or a worse grade than solo projects. There are the team members who leave the work for someone else or the person whose ideas are way out there or the bossy person who looks down on everyone else. What is supposed to be an opportunity to share the load can backfire.
Fortunately, God’s invitation to become involved in His work includes the best partner EVER: Himself.
The Great Commission closes with these words,
“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20 CSB)
The last words of Jesus were a promise that He would be with us until the end of the age. He has not left us; and, we are not to leave Him.
Jesus described the relationship in this way,
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 ESV)
We are to be connected to God as we serve. It is a partnership.
For we are laborers together with God. (1 Corinthians 3:9 KJV)
God’s invitation is to work with Him. Unlike earthly partners, He makes sure that our work level is fair. God’s invitation to work with Him is this:
“Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30)
God invites you today to become involved in His work
with Him. Accept the invitation.
