Once upon a time, three men were walking in the woods. They came upon a river. Much to their distress, there were babies floating down the river.
One man immediately jumped into the river and started rescuing the babies. Another man rushed downstream because he knew there was a waterfall and he wanted to stop them from going over. The third man ran upstream to stop the babies from being placed in the river.
Fortunately, this story is a metaphor for the work that we are called to do in helping to save a dying world. Some are called to crisis ministries that keep people from going over the waterfall. Others work to help those in need from getting to a point of crisis, while others work to prevent needs from occurring.
You see, no matter how you become involved with God, it is His work in redeeming the world. Maybe God has called you to rescue victims of trafficking, maybe you will provide for the homeless or help a struggling child learn to read. As long as you are working with God, you are part of His work in reconciling the world.
Everything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed the message of reconciliation to us.
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:18-20 CSB)
Child of God, YOU are an ambassador. Choose to be an ambassador for Christ.
God invites you to become involved with Him
in His work.
Please do Him the honor of a favorable reply and join Him.
