God.
How is it that three letters represent God? How can such a short word describe the omnipresent, omniscient, eternal, all-powerful being that created literally everything?
Think about God.
God is creator. Through him
all things were made;
without him nothing was made that has been made. (John 1:3)
God is eternal.
In the beginning God… (Genesis 1:1)
God is powerful.
These are only glimpses of what he does. We only hear a whisper of him! Who can understand the thunder of his power?
(Job 26:14, NOB)
God. Three letters cannot contain Him. All of the letters cannot Him.
So often, we overlook the word God in our reading of Bible verses or religious sentences in order to understand what the verse is saying. If we aren’t careful, we can almost treat the word like a “the”, a word that clarifies the meaning but doesn’t add that much to it.
However, if we are to truly understand the invitation we have been given, we first need to understand who is inviting us.
Child, it is
God
inviting you to become involved with Him in His work. It is not the pastor, a friend, or an unmet need. It is
God.
Ask
the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God to help you see him for who He is today. (1 Timothy 1:17)
God is inviting you.
