Pursue: (pur-sue) verb
The weekend before UK’s Spring Break, our daughter was home preparing to leave on a road trip and doing some homework. She watched an assigned video and then opened the list of questions - something seemed off, so she returned to the original homework assignment. In re-reading the assignment, she realized the answers were in the instructions!
All the while, it was that easy. The professor wanted them to have a good spring break and stay current on the curriculum. So, he offered a gift! Chased them down with a blessing… the answers are there. But, like most in this class - I’m not sure we take the time to read them.
God holds everything in the palm of His hand, and guess what? He pursues you, chases you, and desires to know you. YOU!
He pursues you. Even in all our sinful humanness, He longs to hang out.
Can you even deal? Is it that easy? Short answer: yes, yes it is!
This chase of us is not based on our performance or worthiness but on His perfect love and grace. He invites us to come to Him just as we are, with all our flaws and imperfections. Feels like a weight off my shoulders! You too?
From creation to now, God has been pursuing a connection with us because He loves us. Jesus came and lived and died for the sake of God pursuing us.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:16-18)
The answers are in the directions, friend… slow down long enough to let Him catch you.
