If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. (1 Corinthians 15:13-14)
Is the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead true? This is indeed one of the most important questions that can be asked. According to Scripture, your eternal destiny depends on believing the right answer. There is no room for making a mistake. In explaining how man is eternally saved, Paul writes,
… if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved
(Romans 10:9).
There are many who try to explain away the resurrection; but as they do, they are committing spiritual suicide. They are slaying all their future hope and meaning of life now. They may have the
perspective that finds religious meaning in the natural world and rejects the notion of a supernatural realm. This bias rejects the possibility that there is a personal God who cares so much about us that He is willing and able to intervene on our behalf. They will not have God in their thinking. Thus, they are bringing the wrath of God upon themselves.
But there are also many who believe, not because of wishful thinking, but because the facts are so clear and the evidence so strong. And in believing, they receive eternal life.
Paul gives a logical argument for the resurrection by taking the opposite position and explaining what that position would necessarily mean for the Christian. (See 1 Corinthians 15:12-19.)
Paul then declares Christ has indeed been raised from the dead. He describes the symmetry that God has decreed between the first Adam and the second Adam (Christ). Since death initially came through a man (Adam), resurrection of the dead also comes through a man (Jesus Christ). And just as everyone dies in Adam, so everyone comes alive in Christ.
Because Jesus Christ lives, trust in Him and you too will live!
