This Is My Father’s World

In our day-to-day lives, it’s easy for us to focus on God’s creation from our perspective. It’s easy for us to view our world as:
one life (ours)- a family (ours)
- our in-person friends and social media friends
- our personal problems to figure out with God’s help – if we choose to ask
When we have this perspective, it becomes very easy to have a negative view of the world, because it is mostly filled with OUR problems!
Fortunately, God doesn’t see it that way. God has created a world with:
8 billion people currently living on Earth- about 330 million (4% of Earth) people living in the United States
- about 300 thousand (0.004% of Earth) people living in Lexington
In other words, for every person in Lexington, there are about 25,000 people in the world that DON’T live in Lexington!
And God also controls:
skies, seas, and the weather- millions of animals, insects, and plants
- an entire universe with galaxies, stars, planets, and moons
According to Psalm 19:1:
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. We need to see God’s creation through the perspective He had for us, as found in the writings of Paul:
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). God is always at work, and we need to look for opportunities to be a part of that work!
Between personal travels and working remotely, I have met people from nearly every state in the USA – in addition to some from other countries. What a blessing! But what is the benefit if I do not share God’s love? People need to know that I am a follower of God and what that means. I have had several conversations with coworkers about God’s love, but I need to do even better. As you go through your day, look for ways to connect with people both inside and outside your own city and share God’s word and love with them. You may be their missionary – for
we are ambassadors for Christ… (2 Corinthians 5:20)!
